Multi-Sensory BallPit™
Ball pits, well known for their therapeutic effects, are designed to assist you in creating a multi-sensory environment. Ball pits have been awakening persons who are developmentally delayed, neurologically involved or living with birth disorders such as autism. They are also known to have the opposite effect on those who require relaxation. Inside a ball pit thousands of balls create a rainbow sea of fun, enticing people of all ages into the therapy environment and acting as sensory stimuli (visual, auditory, tactile). We designed our ball pits to provide complete portability and safety. Each 48"W x 24-1/2"H x 3"-thick panel has 2-1/2" of gymnastic-mat-quality, cross-linked polyethylene foam. Even the top edge is safety padded. Panels connect via our double-safe system; lace-up grommet strips inside, and external corner-support posts outside. Integral floor flaps overlap to keep all balls within the pit. The unique modular approach allows for free-standing shape flexibility (pits can be expanded) that can even fit into odd corners. Ball sizes were selected to provide fluid movement and safety. There's always plenty of air for breathing, even when diving deep. We recommend 76mm balls for general applications (schools, gyms, homes, etc.) and 60mm balls for serious therapy (where maximum number of tactile stimulation points are desired).
